Sky TV is great isnt it? Well not if you pay them £240 and have 4 engineers visit to fix a no signal issue and it still remains. What happens if you get too annoyed and want to leave? Sky have made this part of their service intentionally difficult so its hard for you to leave, however if you know how to then its pretty simple.
Just visit this page https://www.sky.com/help/articles/remove-a-package-or-cancel-your-subscription
then call the number on that page. There is an automated service when you call so just say when it asks why you are calling just say "to cancel sky" it will then confirm this with you and put you on hold to speak to someone. Who you get through to next may be different but whoever answers just tell them you want to cancel sky, if they ask what the problem is just say "i want to cancel" dont enter into a discussion with them about whats wrong just say you want to cancel. They will then put you through to the Sky retention team whose job it is to try and get you to stay so they will ask you what the problem is or why do you want to cancel or what can they do to help so you will stay just say "dont waste your time or mine and just cancel my subscription" then if they keep asking whats wrong just keep repeating "just cancel my subscription" and do NOT enter into a discussion with them about anything else. If you stick to this then they will cancel your subscription and you will receive an email from them confirming they cancelled it and there you go its done.
Another way you can get them to cancel without having all the questions is to say you are moving abroad, they seem to cancel it straight away using that method.
Now you can go to Freeview or whatever other service you require.
